Catholic Christianity as a Spiritual Way of Life

The world as we know it is not how God intended it to be, but Christ came to heal our brokenness and bring us back to God. When we follow Christ together in the community of his church, we experience inner peace, lasting happiness, and purpose in life. This is the Catholic Christian Lifestyle.

Please recite the special prayer found below and then check out this website for your next steps in faith. If you do not already have a parish to call your spiritual home, please go to MassTimes.org to find a Catholic Church that is near you. But, right now, please join in the following prayer.

Let us pause, reflect and pray: “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. Fill me with your Spirit so that I may live a new life. Help me to know you, to love you, and to serve you in this world, so that I may be happy with you both now and for all eternity. Thank you, Lord! Amen.”

Welcome to this website which promotes a Catholic Christian lifestyle for the spiritual formation of intentional disciples of Jesus Christ!  While it was at Antioch that the followers of Christ were called Christians for the first time, it was also at Antioch where Christians called themselves Catholics for the first time. The designation Catholic Christian can also be found in the Confessions of Saint Augustine, who is surely not only one of the greatest sinners, but also one of the greatest Catholic Christians of all time. But all of us are called by God to become great Catholic Christians as well, for the kingdom of God is already here in our midst through the sacraments of his church. Let us then repent and believe the good news in the community of the church!

This website contains an introduction to the spiritual treasures of Catholic Christianity. The well-founded hope is that you will embrace a Catholic Christian Lifestyle as your spiritual path forward as well. The ChristLife Course is an important background theme of this entire website. Please click here for information about ChristLife, so that you may discover, follow and share the life-changing difference that Christ makes in the hearts of those who believe. The three major sections of this website show how prayer, education, and service work together in the context of Catholic Christianity. Thank you for embarking on this spiritual quest of knowing, loving, and serving Christ as the God of your life. For more information about this lifestyle, please click here.

Invitation. Please accept this invitation to explore the blessings of Catholic Christianity for yourself. In doing so, you will hopefully discover that Catholic Christianity is the only lifestyle that is really worth living. And, in pursuing this spiritual lifestyle, you may find yourself moving beyond conventional churchianity to intentional discipleship, as a forgiven sinner who not only knows about Christ, but who truly knows Christ himself, personally, in the community of his church. For more information about this spiritual transformation from abstract nominal “churchianity” to personally committed Christianity, please click here.

So, together, let us look upward in faith, move forward in hope, and lead onward in love to new life in Christ! As Catholic Christians who are praying, learning, and serving together in the community of the church as intentional disciples of Christ, we are assured that we are on the right side of salvation history. For questions about this website and its spirituality, or for information about spiritual direction and pastoral counseling, please click here. In the meantime, let us all remember each other often in prayer, especially when we gather together to celebrate the Eucharist each week or, better yet, each and every day!

The Catholic Christian Lifestyle introduces us to an entire Catholic Christian Worldview. This sacramental worldview is based on the revelation of Jesus Christ as our incarnate God and Savior. This biblical worldview shows us that we need Jesus Christ as our Savior and our God. This supernatural worldview gives meaning and purpose to our lives on earth, and prepares us to inherit our destiny to become partakers of the divine nature of Christ our God and Lord.

“Being Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person,

which gives life a new horizon and a decisive direction.” – from Deus Caritas Est by Pope Benedict XVI

“About Jesus Christ and the Church, I simply know they’re just one thing,

and we shouldn’t complicate the matter.” – Saint Joan of Arc
