"Going Home"

Antonin Dvorak’s New World Symphony includes a hauntingly beautiful folk melody which inspired William Arms Fishers’ “Going Home” lyrics in 1922. More recently, Lori True used the main theme of “Going Home” for “Quietly Peacefully.” This music may be suitable for Funeral Liturgies, Wake Services, All Souls Day, Lenten Liturgies, Penance Services, personal prayer, and other occasions that invite us to reflect on the traditional teachings about the Last Things.

Rest in peace, faithful one, Christ has called you home.
Go in peace, beloved one, may heaven be your home.

Home, home, may heaven be your home.
