Mass Prayers

In order to participate fully in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, we need to know most of the prayers of the Mass by heart. Please click here for a special pamphlet with the prayers of the Mass that everyone should know by heart. Then we can pray these words from the depths of our hearts. What follows on this webpage is an online version of the Mass Prayers, which may also be found in the booklets found in most church pews. Let us all pray together at Mass!

Opening Rites:

  • I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore, I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God.

Communion Prayer:

  • Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
  • Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

Receiving Communion:

  • The Body of Christ. Amen.  (The Blood of Christ. Amen.)
  • Spiritual preparation for receiving Holy Communion includes prayerful fasting and the sacrament of Penance (for serious sins), as part of the sacred tradition of our Catholic Christian Faith. Those who are not spiritually prepared to worthily receive Holy Communion, or who are not Catholic, are invited to come forward for a blessing from the priest, indicated by placing your right hand over your heart. Thank you for praying with us!

Concluding Prayers:

  • The Lord be with you. And with your spirit.
  • May almighty God bless you . . . Amen.
  • Go in peace. Thanks be to God.
