The Catholic Christian Lifestyle
Catholic Christianity is the only lifestyle truly worth living, both now and for all eternity. Prayerfully consider the following blueprint for growing in personal holiness and missionary discipleship in your everyday life as a Catholic Christian believer.
Followers of Jesus Christ are Orthodox Catholic Christian Evangelicals. These four beautiful words, Orthodox, Catholic, Christian, and Evangelical, help us focus on who we are as faithful followers of Jesus Christ. Let us briefly reflect on these four special words to appreciate the fullness of our holy faith.
Orthodoxy means “right worship.” When we worship the right God, the true God who revealed himself to us in Jesus Christ, we also profess the “right belief” which leads us to “right living” (orthopraxy) according to the ways of Jesus Christ. As Catholics, our faith is built upon the solid foundation of both Scripture and Tradition as explained in the Catechism. When we identify ourselves as Christians, we affirm that Jesus Christ is the God of our lives, whom we know, love, and serve wholeheartedly and unconditionally. And, when we call ourselves Evangelical, we commit ourselves to sharing the Gospel through word and example to others. So, “Let us believe and profess all that the Holy Catholic Church believes, teaches, and proclaims to be revealed by God!” And thus, let us proclaim to the whole world, “We have found the Messiah!” Come and join us in the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church founded by Jesus Christ!
The Church is one in its profession of the faith delivered once for all to the saints. It is holy through the power of Holy Spirit working through the sacraments of our salvation. It is catholic in its universal outreach to save all sinners. And it is apostolic in both its leadership and its witness to Jesus Christ our God.
Jesus is our way, our truth, and our life! We invite you to come to him as your God too, as an Orthodox Catholic Christian Evangelical believer in his Church community. Please use this website to help you pursue a Catholic Christian Lifestyle for your own spiritual journey. While the followers of Jesus Christ are really Orthodox Catholic Christian Evangelicals, those are a lot of words to repeat. So, like the early Church, let us just be known as simply “Catholic” as we follow the Catechism of the Catholic Church for the definitive and authoritative presentation of the Holy Scriptures and the Sacred Tradition of the Church. In conclusion, let us all proclaim that “This is our faith! This is the faith of the Church! We are proud to profess it in Christ Jesus Our Lord!” Amen!
“Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule of life.” – Galatians 6:16
